Nicole Story
Nicole Bowman was born and raised in Lakewood, Colorado. Her entry into the legal field began when she started as a part-time file clerk for a worker’s compensation law firm in 8th grade when her mom still had to pick her up and drop her off to work after school, and throughout her summer breaks. She graduated from Bear Creek High School in 2005 and went on to receive her bachelor’s degree in criminal justice with aspirations to become a victim’s advocate. She even went so far as to volunteer with CASA as a court appointed Special Advocate in dependency and neglect cases in Denver County. Her story did not continue down that path, however, as she began working as a legal assistant for 15 years for a sole practitioner who practiced in a variety of areas of the legal field, to include but not limited to, diminished capacity clients in mental health matters, Guardianships and Conservatorships, Estate law, Family law, and dependency and neglect and juvenile cases. In 2020 she began working for an insurance defense law firm. While there, she received her paralegal certificate, and from there, began her paralegal journey working on personal injury, and construction defect cases. Nicole has a very dedicated, knowledgeable, and compassionate history helping a variety of clients that are experiencing some of the most distressing times of their lives through the varying complexities of their cases.
Nicole is not only devoted to her career but also equally devoted to her family. She has been happily married to her husband of nine years and has three amazing daughters. Outside of work you can find her spending time with her family in a variety of school, and non-school activities, and adventures. One of their favorite pastimes is their “Sunday Drives,” where they drive up into the mountains with no destination in mind and see where it takes them. As a family, they also like to go camping, fishing, and 4-wheeling. A couple of their favorite spots are Tarryall Reservoir in Park County, and Eleven Mile Reservoir, also in Park County. Outside of their adventures, they also enjoy being homebodies spending time together watching movies, making crafts, hanging out outside, and dancing to music in the kitchen while cooking dinner.
Q & A with Nicole Bowman:
1. Why FWI Legal?
The team atmosphere, and company culture is what made me want to work at FWI. They not only provide a great and supportive working environment, but they also understand the importance of a work life balance. The support and knowledge that they provide to their employees actively translates into the compassion and care that is provided to their clients. What I appreciate the most about FWI is that, with them, you are not just a client, but rather a part of the FWI family.
2. Why the legal field?
While working within the legal field sort of “fell into my lap,” it quickly became apparent that this was what I was meant to do. I have always had a natural desire to help people when they need it the most and am passionate about continuing to expand my knowledge and career within the legal field and the complexities of the ever-evolving laws and procedures in Colorado. I have been extremely fortunate enough to have a long history of helping clients in a variety of stressful situations along the way, and am extremely passionate about protecting Client’s rights, navigating disputes, and most importantly treating clients with empathy, and civility.
